Lids Takes Flight

Friday, July 7th the Lids Foundation and Lids came together with Shepherd Community Center to serve our surrounding community. The day was filled with House Projects, a Lunch & Learn with students, Street Clean Up, and a Block Party. This was a very successful event, and we appreciate everyone who participated!

House Project

A team of 9 Lids Teammates helped one of the residents in our community that has suffered a stroke and was no longer able to care for her home. They mowed & weed whacked the lawn, weeded all flower beds and walkways, planted new flowers and plants in the flower beds, mulched, cleaned out the gutters, and picked up trash. It was an amazing transformation, and the homeowners was overjoyed!

Lunch & Learn

A team of 7 Lids Teammates attended Shepherd’s E2E Program for a Lunch & Learn session. Some of the topics that were discussed were: what employers are looking for in employees, the importance of hard work, dedication, and showing up. and how to take an idea from concept to reality. 46 Jr. High & High School Students were in attendance and afterwards our teammates had lunch and mingled with the students. This was a great opportunity for Lids to mentor the youth of our community.

Alley Clean Up

A team of 10 Lids teammates came together to beautify the streets and alleyways of Indianapolis. They filled 10 large trash bags full of trash and cleaned 7 blocks & 2 streets! The most rewarding part, besides seeing how much cleaner the streets were, was the positive comments from community members passing by.

Block Party

A Team of 13 Lids Teammates were excited to host a Block Party for the community. They worked hard prepping by setting up tables, chairs, a bounce house, yard games, cotton candy, and even got the grill going! They provided a fun time for the community to come together and build relationships.
