November Foundation Friday

Year-round we, at the Lids Foundation, do many charitable events, but we really kick it up a notch as the Holiday Season approaches. We revved things up at the end of October and we won’t stop until the New Year. Here is what has been happening…

Recent Events

Hope For Henry Day

October 25th, we made a special trip to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to celebrate Hope For Henry Day! Ted Harton and his Cincinnati team joined us to pass out hats to children undergoing treatments, their caregivers, and the wonderful nurses that take care of them. This was not only a great opportunity to love on these brave children and their loved ones but see firsthand the impact that the Hope For Henry Program is making in the children’s lives as well as the nurses’.

Our Military Kids Thank You Cards

For the second year in a row, we celebrated Veterans Day by making Thank You Cards to send to Military Children. Our partner Our Military Kids provided some wonderful templates for us to use, and our Lids Employees decorated them with stickers and beautiful drawings while writing sweet messages to the kids.

We loved hearing your own personal stories of being a military kid or you yourself being a Veteran. We cannot thank you enough for your service!

Our Military Kids provides extracurricular activity grants to children of deployed National Guard and Reserve service members and children of service members or Veterans from any branch of service receiving treatment for post-9/11 combat-related injuries or illness.

If you or someone you know qualifies for their grants you can go to https://www.ourmilitarykids.org/apply to apply.

Baskets of Hope

Lids Hat Drop and the Lids Foundation partnered up again this year to provide 500 turkeys for Baskets of Hope. Every year Shepherd Community Provides Baskets of Hope filled with everything needed for a Thanksgiving Dinner. These Baskets are then delivered and handed out to families in need in the Indianapolis Community.

Part of this partnership with Shepherd Community is offering the opportunity to our Lids Teammates to volunteer to help deliver the baskets. On November 23rd, eleven of our amazing Lids Teammates showed up to hand deliver the baskets. This was a great way to not only serve our community but meet and talk with our neighbors as well. Thank you to all who came out!
